How "wild" are they Jose? I some of the species like the Javalin is supposed to be something you stay away from, yet or warthogs run away when you come near and they are much more scary looking than these.

I have seen these wild pigs several times in France but they are always on the run! Great picture. Diane

Aren't they something! It looks like the first one is poised for action. I feel as if I'm being confronted. Those snouts and the bristled fur are really something. Portugal is an amazing country, from wild pigs to high art. It seems one could never run out of fascinating sites to see.

@Joan: These guys here have no reason to be afraid of people, in fact, they are extremely curious as you can tell by the pic. :-) This shot was taken right at the entrance of the park, they were the only animals that didn't run away. However my sister has a photo close to a small deer on a different occasion.

So cool! I've heard about more than seen European wild pigs. I think they have tapir stripes as babies.

My father used to go wild boar hunting in Morocco. I think they were bigger than these. Don't think I'd want to be face-to-face with any of these.
