This is sooo cute. What healthy looking squirrels! Not so typical in Asia... was this in a temple where the worshipers fed them the rice? (The white spots on their eyes puzzle me.)

No, Francisca, this was at the resort I was staying by the Irrawaddy River.

Well, it wasn't a bad guess... people ARE feeding them. :-) I have struggled a lot about going to Burma/Myanmar... one of the few countries in Asia I have not been to... but it calls me...

I can see why those little rodents have a little belly on them, unlike many of our Florida squirrels...everyone feeds them rice. Did you do that just to get this photo, JM? If so, once again kudos to you for your creativity!

Love the cool neutral tones contrasted by the fallen yellow leaves. There eyes are very compelling with the reflections you caught! (Once I laid peanuts on a bunch of pine branches to get a shot of a bluejay).

What a feast!! Were you using a flash when you took these Jose?

@Jacob: I believe they are feed rice on a daily basis by the resort staff, it was not me! :-)

@Joan: I honestly don't remember but using a flash at daylight sounds weird to me. However I'm also intrigued by the squirrels' eyes... :-)
