I've just come from a water-filled sea to a waterless desert! This looks so barren, indeed, and not a place one where one would want to find trouble! Yikes!

I watched a wonderful documentary last night about the Great Rift Valley and of course I thought of you and the many awe-inspiring images you have shown from this amazing place. I have an even greater appreciation of your photos now! To stand in such a place is to look back in time millions of years where geological factors shaped our destiny.

I did not know that Northern Kenya has Western looking dessert too. Hope they don't have rattlesnakes as well. Magnificent panorama!
