I'm pretty sure the fairy tern is reading that sign. :)
The little tern seem to have found an appropriate place to roost.
These should not be surprising by their existence, but they should be a growing norm!! Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.
What a great capture.
Stupendous week of photos JM! I had a good chance to visit the Seychelle islands back in the early '70's when I was lounging in the Mombassa bars. Problem was I wouldn't have had the money to get back. Oh what might have been!
Cheers to you good Sir!
I'm so glad that this island became a preserve...and I think the little bird would agree with me!
A lovely image and as I was born just south of Durban in South Africa in 1956 I can at least claim to have been fairly close to these beautiful islands.
I was only two years old when I left Africa so no memories for me.
Enjoy...
Great capture! It looks like the bird is reading the sign.
That's a very interesting place to find a Tern.
Lovely little fellow!
Terns are known to lay their eggs in the most precarious places. I would not be surprised if the bird chose the ledge for a nest. Candid shot!
Great capture, the tern is very pretty.
A cute little bird, and obviously intelligent too! :-) Nice capture.
I bet that tern was happy when he finished reading the sign! LOL Excellent!
Now, I have to know- were you that close to "Mr. Big" or was it a lens? Because if you WERE that close, I must ask, "Are you CRAZY?!" LOL
Marvelous capture - lovely little bird!
It appears that this sweet bird is the Welcome Wagon for the Island.:)
@EmptyNester: LOL! I was that close to 'Mr. Big'. I was taking photos while he was walking towards the jeep. That was the last one I took because I started feeling unconfortable and I was afraid the click sound would upset him and he might do something crazy! LOL! Keep in mind I was at an open vehicle. :-)
How COOL...I guess this bird can read!
Is that the tour guide?
Great capture! I wonder if they put treats out by the sign to attract feathery visitors.
What would a sign for a bird sanctuary be without a real live bird taking sanctuary.
great capture!
