A real beauty JM...
I was born in South Africa in the 1950's.
One of my earliest memories (I was now in the UK) was visiting the house of a couple that had been out there with my parents. They had a great big egg on display and I was amazed by it's size. My interest of birds and a need to know more about them had just been inspired by the Ostrich.

Lovely shot JM. I've only ever seen them in captivity.

Beautiful photo! Should be nice to see them in the wild, I have just seen them in animalparks.

How cool, to see the ostrich in the wild. Are they mean? Great photo.

Em campo aberto deve ser interessante fotografar estes animais. Quantas histórias não terás para contar...

I like this shot; the distant ostrich mirrors the close one.

I would not like to get in the way of those feet.

Now that's a sight you don't see very often in Florida...except in zoos!

Reminds me of a lot of people in the US ... :-)

Sadly, I've seen quite a few ostrich farms in SoCal. I can't imagine wanting to eat such a lovely and quirky creature who means no one or nothing any harm. I'm glad these ones are safe. Great profile in an amazing setting!

Talk about context! The depth of field in this photo is mind bending JM. It's wonderful you could experience ostriches in the wild!
Cheers and safe journey to you Sir!

Wonderful shot!

Great Ostrich, I have never seen a black one before. Our birds here in Australia are escapees from captivity and a brownish colour.

Nice shot, JM! I'd like to do the kinds of travel you were - or are still - doing!
