The lion is probably the only animal that can sleep in the open without being disturbed, probably due to the risk that lions would disturb other sleeping animals. Like house cats, they sleep a lot. We love Ngorongoro Crater.

Here, kitty, kitty!

I hope you didn't try to wake up this sweet, little kitty! And I hope you used a long lens to take this photo!

SUBLIMISSIMO...what a truly original Lion photography, JM!!!
This is an AWARD SHOT for sure!!!

He really doesn't seem to care about the Jeeps...!

...Your fantastic photography of Tanzania's wild life is bringing back beautiful memories; I have been there a lot between 87 and 90 for work...!
I really adored this untouched Nature then..!

Thanks & ciao ciao elvira

@Paintings: Yes, he's alive and kicking! And so were his brothers resting in the shade of our vehicle (it was too hot, even for them)... :-)

Thank goodness. They are such beautiful creatures. I'm glad you clarified. :)

Funny, when it's TOO hot, I can't sleep at all. But when I sleep, not even a train riding over my face can wake me... :-D
