Punta Tombo must be a predator free place for these penguins to enjoy such nesting without borders! This is a sight to behold and one could just imagine being there to watch this penguin behavior. Wonderful panoramic shot!

That is another whole world! Almost alien. Penguins are such funny-looking creatures. But I thought they were essentially sea birds ...

They are so cute and I love the way they walk. Diane

They are wonderful to see. What an experience!! Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.

I wonder if I will ever get to see a wild Penguin in my lifetime.
I am aware I will have to make some travel plans because they won't come to me.
A beautiful image.

Beautiful picture! Have you ever been to Ushuaia? I love that place and visited once. Do you have any pictures of End of the world and beginning of everything?

Shows how little I know about penguins, but I was rather stunned to see them in such an arid looking place. I'm so used to seeing them photographed in snow and ice. The certainly do look to be having a good time just strolling around doing their thing. You get the best animal shots, they so often seem so "human" for lack of a better word.

JM,
I am at a total loss for words. It is increasingly mind boggeling to follow your photographic wanderings. A thousand zombie penguins roam the wastelands of Patagonia?! That is wild even by your standards.
I remain your humble servant!

they are so cute...and strange without snow :)

Interesting how free they are. It almost looks like it is a desert.

That is a strange scene. Wonderful photograph!

The domain of penguins! Out of this world! How did they let you in to take a photo?

Unknown said...

@Hilke: Actually, the (always controlled) presence of humans in the reserve prevent the penguins from being attacked by predators. And I think they know it! :-)))

JM, This is one of those take-my-breath-away photos. Lucky, lucky you for being able to see them in person.

Thank-you for sharing your birding adventures!

Wow!! excellent!!
At the long glance they look like people just wandering around. You got a shot that not many people see. MB
