Were you snorkeling with an underwater camera? Coral reefs are so spectacular and so important. Many of ours in Florida are being damaged, some irreparably by boats and trash...sad.

Yes, Jacob, I was snorkeling and used a disposable underwater camera.

I think coral reefs are the most spectacular places but at the same time make me feel uncomfortable ... perhaps it is fear of stinging things in the water or that I am unfamiliar with the environment,

These are great photos for a disposable underwater camera. I finally bought a point-and-shoot camera that is waterproof at snorkeling depths (up to 3 meters). It worked so well that I won a photo contest with a close-up photo of the inside of an irridescent clam in the Cook Islands.

In Polynesia we were told that the coral reefs are endangered because the Japanese fishing boats over-fish the type of fish that eat the crown of thorns, and the crown of thorns are now so prevalent that they are eating and destroying the coral reefs.

May God bless you and your family in 2011 ~Ron

And always remember... Smiles don't have to be saved for a rainy day. It's good to waste them :-)

Nice Coral Reef shots. Are they endangered in Thailand? MB
