Darling up there in the trees. Perhaps not so darling up close. Aren't there "capuchin" clergy in the Roman church? Maybe they're related to these guys? ;-)

Jacob has deduced the origin of the name of these monkeys. Early settlers to the New World first encountered these monkeys and thought their appearance resembled the robes worn by Capuchin monks.

I believe that Capuchin monks are also the source of the name for Cappucino.

As you know from my many posts about them, I love encounters with white-faced Capuchin monkeys, as I have not yet experienced them stealing stuff like you have.

They opened a Monkeyland here by us about a year ago and I went and took some pics which I have not yet posted. There were some of these there too. Very cute. :)
