That's one mama I wouldn't want to mess with! And I didn't know elephant young 'un's were called "cubs." I always think of cubs as little, furry/fuzzy things. :-)

A magnificent shot that somehow reminds me of Duerer's (sorry, can't find the Umlaut) of a description of a rhinoceros. It was remarkably accurate too.
Thank goodness they are finally being protected to live there lives and enjoy their families in their natural homes! We would all be less, even if we don't get to see them up close in the wild like you did, if these marvelous elephants were not in the world to inspire us, stimulate our imaginations, hold our admiration, and peak our curiosity. A great image JM!

Didn't know baby elephants were called cubs .. I guess I have always called them baby elephants.
