Hi JM, My first time to leave comment on your fantastic blog(s) AS as individual. I started having my own blog very recently. I always enjoy your photography! It seems to me the turtle in this image is "Chinese soft-shelled turtle". In Japan, we eat and cook in the soup, to be honest. We even drink blood!!! Actually I was thinking to go to Japanese restaurant with my wife to have this soup in the near future, since she is getting cold... Cheers.
This particular turtle looks very similar to other turtles I've seen. ;-)
We lived on a canal in Ft. Lauderdale. The canal had many turtles. People would catch the turtles and eat them. Finally, the authorities put a stop to it. Thank goodness or there wouldn't have been any turtles left!
I wish to come upon a turtle in my desert excursions. I'm glad to see this one has some cool water splashed with sunlight in which to live out his turtle dreams...
